i've exported the results of sonnet em simulator in touchstone format (s2p file) but it gave error when i tried to read it in matlab using read(rfdata.data,'filename.s2p')

First you should start doing controls using serial/parralel port of the pc or using PLC , then you should try to build a scada using visual basic or use one of the well known scada programs like intouch .
We majorily use the frequency response curves to see how the gain , input impedence , output impedence of different circuits change with the different frequencies

i think it's better to change all the delta sources and loads to the wye connection & solve the circuit in single phase mode is easily then you should apply the laws there to convert it back into 3 phase delta connected mode
