Question about transformers and on-load tap changers (OLTCs)

Hi, I have a network with hundreds of busbars (ranging from 33kV to 6.6kV). I have some electrical loads connected at the far end of the network via 2-winding transformers and I am analysing the voltage drops at the point of load connections. Some of these busbars experience around 10%...

Advice for PhD (Electri & Electro Engineering) please?

This is a topic given from one of the supervisors whom I want to work with, and I was almost sure that coding was necessary for his subject. He has said the topic can be changed anytime if preferred, but I am not sure if he will have any subject where coding is not required. I am more positive...

Advice for PhD (Electri & Electro Engineering) please?

Hi guys.. I am going to start my PhD in April however I still have to choose my field and supervisor... In one side I can work with electric vehicles - decarbonising targets, meeting/minimizing energy consumption (distributed generation, PV, solar, storage) In other side I can work with...

    Arduino Suggestion and Tips

Hi man. MY final question, i think it is better to ask you. I know I can google it straight away but as i said, im not very good and experienced in this thing yet, so if you could help me out with my final question, i would really appreciate it bro. I want to try to build like an alarm sensor...

    Arduino Suggestion and Tips

Thanks for your reply man! Yeah I don't know the list of projects yet, they will be accessed in the mid august, but as I said, even if i wouldn't need to use arduino or programm for my project, i still wanted to learn it just in case and i think its fun once you understand whats going and its...

    Arduino Suggestion and Tips

Hello guys!! i am electrical & electronic engineering, 2nd year (almost done) hopfully 3rd year in the upcoming term after summer, and i chose my modules for next year but i haven't taken any computing or microprocessors module as I am really bad with them, but im buying an arduino next week...

A question related to transistors and power electronics!

apparently there was a mistake in the question.. lecturer said r1 had to be given but thanks anyways mate! and do you know why the use of a differentria amplifier biased by a current mirror can help to reduce the lower cut off frequency?

A question related to transistors and power electronics!

Guys does anyone know how to find R1 from the diagram... I think to find R2, we can use Gain = R2 n parallel with RL divide by re but how about r1? can anyone solve and post here please?? :) This is the question

Questions Related to Power System Design

Yes we have them but our lab sessions are so poor. I dont even see the point of them, and everyone agrees with me in my class. I mean they are good, they could definitely be useful but I think they are not doing it as they should.

Questions Related to Power System Design

If PF is 1, then isnt the angle theta gonig to be arccos 1 =0 angle?? and I know X is the p.u. one but i calculated Xsc to be 53.60 ohms and i doubled check with my lecturer and its correct. Adn the percentage reactance is 3.88% (i calculated it.) how do we obtain p.u X then?? This is really...

Questions Related to Power System Design

It says assume a purely resistive load current. I m not sure how to find the power factor but i nkow its found from Psc/vsc * Isc so i ll try to get it. But then from the equation in 21st post, VR=IRcos(theta)+IXsin(theta) is X the short circuit one or the percentage reactance one?

Questions Related to Power System Design

Sorry for the confusion guys. I was without sleep pretty much everyday last week, and this was stressing me a lot. And so once we get the reactance percentage, how can i work out the expected voltage regulation by using the full load current (8.2A) and per unit equivalent reactance?

Questions Related to Power System Design

the thing is next question asks us to calculate voltage regulation from the per- unit reactance we obtained.. So as I said short circuit data is Rsc is 1.759 and Zsc is 2.644 S is 3kVa at 400 V line to line and its star connection.. these are the only data we got
