Does anyone know how to design a PRINTED LOG PERIODIC DIPOLE ARRAY from 2-40Ghz. Any references on such a task? Is it even possible? What kind of connectors can be used?

there has to be a better way than that.
Even with HFSS 9.2 which allows direct export to dxf. I notice it only exports the HFSS geometry on the xy plane. This results in a 2D AutoCAD design.
Is there a way to export the 3D geometry from HFSS to have the exact 3D geometry in AutoCAD

I appreaciate your response, but can you elaborate, I still don't understand why we can't do just one -3dB coupler. What do you mean 'keeps the coupling low', and 'easier mechanically'?

I have a question regarding the tandem connection of of two -8.34 dB couplers to create -3dB coupler.
Why is this done? Why can't a -3dB coupler be directly designed? My guess is probalby to achieve larger bandwidth or possibly to achieve 90 deg phase shift.

For microstrip, you would make a rectangle from the upper conducter line to the the ground and insert an integration line from bottom to top.

The reason I don't simulate one balun is because I would have to place some kind of absorbing material at the end of it to prevent any reflections. I've seen many papers do the back - to - back design for this very reason. Unfortunately they don't specify how to extract the data for...
actually the design does not consist of two objects... the two baluns were 'united' into one object (ie. no discontinuity between the two)... I just want to know how to manipulate the S-Paramater data of the two back to back baluns so that I can get the S-Paramater data for one balun...

I am using HFSS to simulate two back to back tapered baluns. HFSS gives me plots of the S-Parameters for a range of frequencies.
My question is, how can I know what are the S-Parameters of only one balun?
I think that I simply need to add 3dB to all the results. But I am not...
