Mains filter inputs have capacitors X and Y class accross the mains and from mains to earth . One class is suposed to fail open and the other closed- I hace experienced the ones to eart which should fail open going low Z and smoking

I had a 2 wire DC drill that could speed control ! the speed measurement was achieved by looking at the current pulses and the drive modified to maintain the required speed for varying loads. Normally 3 wires ( or some form of feedback) would be used

I am aware the 2445 have problems with the U800 horizontal scan chip- the 2430 has diagnostic errors on turn on on many of the tested functions- are these hard to fix?
