I have the similar question. Let say if voltage 3.3V, load current 0.5A... now I increase voltage to 3.8V, with series resistor 1 Ohm, to create a voltage drop of 0.5V. Thus, the 1 Ohm resistor power rating should be at least 0.25W?
I have the similar question. I'd like to monitor supply voltage, so it is directly connected to ADC thru resistor divider.
Please suggest several ways to protect the ADC input from any abnormal voltage supply.
Somehow I found that this circuitry not so stable... when designing complementary MOSFET switch, what parameters are important?
Here are some I suspected:
- Vgs for both FETs need larger to avoid switch on at the same time
- Rds for PMOS has to small in order to avoid voltage drop
Anything I...
Hi all,
I have a question. After turn off the switch, the load voltage should be close to zero volt. But somehow there's leakage from other voltage source, the load voltage stays at 2V. (Imagine on-off the switch, load voltage swing from 5V to 2V, and 2V to 5V... never reach to zero.
Is there...
I suggested you to read through the datasheet and understand the fundamental of ECG circuit operation. Ask specific questions would narrow down your difficulties.
p/s: from the circuit diagram, it is quite straight forward if you understand how Op-amp works.
Thanks for all the comments.
Actually load current comsumption is about 0.8A, i'll just want to have some margin.
The spike i mentioned is when I observed the AC voltage output. Spike up to +5V when power on the controller.
Sorry my mistake, something to add-on...
When measured the DC...
Hi all,
Currently I am evaluating switching regulator to provide 5V, 1.2A load, from 3.3V input.
Looking into load transient, output voltage shows a spike up when power on, and spike down when power off. Spike is as high as double of regulated voltage ~10V.
What's the root cause of this...
For a very simple inrush current limiter, we can use a P-MOSFET and external RC to slow-start the power on sequence.
E.g. input voltage connected to Source, capacitor in between Source and Gate, and resistor in between Gate and GND. Output Drain to the load, with huge filtering capacitor.
As...
What I saw is p-mosfet at top, and n-mosfet at bottom, like complementary configuration.
When designing totem pole MOSFET switch, what should we pay attention, e.g. Vth, external passive?
Thanks Yassin & Alex.
The mosfet is just for a simple load switch, not for fast rate switching e.g. PWM. Thus FPGA would be good enough.
By the way, I am not sure how to determine turn on/off time for the load if just based on MOSFET datasheet. Does it related to the switching characteristics...
