I have solved my own problem. The issue was that there were indeed holes in the mesh. I solved this by selecting the face of the complex structure, creating an object from the face, then sweeping along a vector to recreate a solid object with no holes. Hope this helps anyone in the future.

I am trying to simulate a pretty complex tiny structure (max dimension 1mm) fed with a rectangular waveguide. I have simulated one similar to this before with no problems but this one keeps kicking out a mesh leak error. I read through the only other post on the web about this error but all the...
Tapered Rod over Ground Plane (HFSS)
I am trying to make a simple rod above ground plane simulation except I want to taper one end of the rod so that I have initially a 10 mm diameter road and it reduces to 2 mm by the end. I looked around for awhile but I couldn't figure it out. How would I go...
Pictures are worth a thousand words. Perhaps you should post some regarding your questions? i.e. circuit diagrams. Have you preformed circuit analysis on your setup and made sure to do the transformations of the inductor/capacitor/load with the transformer?
What is the practical application of...
The Z-Parameters will be constructed in a similar fashion as all other parameters which involve signals such as S-Parameters. The program sends in a unitary signal into the first port and then detects the signal which arrives back out of this port, S11, and detects the signal which transmits...
You should consider that the webupdate is not working because you are under the IT security and need to be an administrator in order to modify installations... that was my problem.
I think the main issue you are having is that your port is not setup correctly. The discrete port, which is a lumped element between the two points, should be used to excite signal path and return path (ground). This type of port will introduce distortions into the calculations. I would...
As far as plotting the Admittance vs. Frequency... just export the Impedance vs. Frequency data using a Touchstone file (.S1P or .S2P) then import the data into some software and just take the inverse of the Impedance to get Admittance... Y=1/Z
Discrete ports in my experience never work. What you want to do is make the port just large enough so the magnitude of the fields goes to zero at the boundary. This occurs for microstrip when the horizontal extent of the port is 10 times the line width and the vertical extent is 5 times the...
I'm not sure but I don't think you can use complex impedance for the discrete port. Maybe just take the magnitude of impedance?
Z = R +jX ... since you have a positive value, you are dealing with an inductive reactance. |Z| = sqrt( R^2 + X^2 ) = 151.55 Ohms.
Or use lumped components in the 3D...
Do you have Line Impedance Adaptation turned on? Do you have Inhomogenous Port Correction turned on? Both are in the solver settings... forgot the exact names...
I am simulating a coaxial cable in CST MWS and I have the results in S-Parameter form, i.e. Frequency Domain. Now I would like to transform them, FFT, into the Time Domain so that I can look at the reflections from discontinuities. Is there a way to do this in CST MWS, or will have to use...
Hello all,
I have been working with CST MWS for about a week now and I am simulating PCB structures, specifically microstrips, both single-ended and differential. I have a lot of experience with 3D modeling and EM solvers. Basically, I was hoping we could share our experiences on what are the...
