define capacitive
Hi, all,
With the trend of integration, sometimes we do not need 50ohm ports block by block. For example, the LNA's output impedance and the mixer's input impedance do not have to match to 50ohm, if they can be ac coupled on-chip.
Therefore, here's my question: when the...
agilent momentum out of memory
Hi, AswinSJ,
Thanks for your suggestion. I'm now simulating a spiral inductor with an area of 600um*600um. The layer number is almost the same with yours, For your suggestions:
1. what is the most simplified mesh? It ran out of memory when I set 6GH mesh...
memory allocation failure ads
Hi, pengboy,
I'm now using ADS2005A, could you please give a little more detail about the hotfix for ADS? thanks.
does anybody here can access to this website for me:**broken link removed**, and get the post titled " memory allocation failure"?
thank you,

how to simulate memory allocation failure
Thank you, pengboy,
I've tried that by editing the boot.ini file, it still did not work for Momentum ... :(
Frustrating...

thick conductor expansion ads
Hi,
I'm using Momentum runing some RF structure, but kept geting error messages: memory allocation failure, and claimed for more virtual memory!! But I have increase my memory to 2GB and the virtual memory to 4GB!!
Does anyone here has the same issue?? how to...
Hi, guys,
I've read some papers on differential inductors, which are said to enhance the quality factor to about 2 times the single-ended one. I'm wondering how to calculate the differential Q value while simulating/measuring??
btw, are there any papers elucidate the method of calculating...
Hi, I'm now using HFSS to simulate a differential spiral. Since most of the HFSS examples available are single-ended, could anyone here please advice me how to assign excitation to the differential ports and the common-mode port?
Thank you very much.

Re: How to get the values defined in BSIM3 directly from Hsp
Hi, Flamingo,
Thank you very much for your reply, it is true that Hspice and ADS both can indicate almost all the model parameters, but they are actually not the ones I'm expecting (please check the equations I attached). The...
Re: How to get the values defined in BSIM3 directly from Hsp
No, not really. As a matter of fact, I have the ADS model provided by the foundry. I just need those parameters for some calculations.
BTW, Do you know how to get those parameters in ADS?
Thanks,
L2F
bsim3v3 in hspice
Hi all,
For some calculations, I need to know some parameters such as Esat, µeff, Abulk ... that are defined in BSIM3v3, however, it is really hard to calculate such parameter values by hand, coz all of the equations involve too many other parameters... and one leads to...
bsim3 abulk value
Dear all,
I have a question about the BSIM3v3 model and Hspice:
For some calculations, I need to know some parameters such as Esat, µeff, Abulk ... that are defined in BSIM3v3, however, it is really hard to calculate such parameter values by hand, coz all of the equations...
RF circuit layout?
Hi, yorande,
I cannot find the paper titled "consistent layout techniques for successful rf cmos design" in this forum, in google ...
If u have it, could u please give me a copy by learning2bstill@yahoo.com? or just upload it here?
Thank you.
Re: RF circuit layout?
Hi,
I am now designing an LNA at 2.4GHz.
I never did the RF/analog layout before, All I have is the book "the art of analog layout". I think this kind of textbook is just too general. And I did search in google for RFIC layout, but little valuable was found. :( So...
