Queries on AC singals in Advanced Design System (ADS)

you can get help from ADS filed application engineer. he can give training for 1 or two days, if your company continues AMC. talk to your manager or HR for training.

How to account for dielectric loss in CST?

you got the point on S21 insetion loss the imaginary part is conductivity for dielectrics, try to map it.

Queries on AC singals in Advanced Design System (ADS)

assign port for each node you want to measure

    A question about P1dB smaller than IIP3

P1dB is where your non linear is kicking or starting. ip3 is where non linear products are equal to main signal. Let say IP3 is lower than P1dB then it means non linear products are equal to input signal and system is still linear. this is not possible right. so IP3 always > P1dB

Queries on AC singals in Advanced Design System (ADS)

Not possible with annotation. Because we define signal frequency and level i.e time varient. so if i point on a pin which level should it display as it is changing time to time. DC annotation is possible as it is not changing wrt time. hope you understand it

How would I increase the power in an RF signal?

use high power amplifier for the last stage. design its driver stage/s and link current transmitter output to the driver

2.6 GHz patch antenna for CMDA 800/1900 MHz?

RL is Return loss, or the other terminology is VSWR. Do you have the graph/plot of RL or VSWR over 1800MHz to 2700MHz?

2.6 GHz patch antenna for CMDA 800/1900 MHz?

Its better to measure the RL of this part (including the cable in my opinion). I feel more gain of antenna and yet moderate RL giving reasonable amplified reception. Regards, Palla

    phase noise effect on NF

Hi, interesting on LO PN on sensitivity.

    phase noise effect on NF

OK, lets continue brain strom on AM receiver and LO phase noise impact. I agree that radar is generally PM receiver. Let say two am signals one at f1 with -20dBm and the other f2 located 100KHz offset with -80dBm power. The sensitivity (due to thermal noise etc. addon) is -85dBm. but the LO PN...

Measuring delivered RF power into an arbitrary impedance load

yes you need high directional coupler. As you mention bandwidth is small so it possible to design it. it has 4 ports one port connecting to input, 2nd port to load ( where 1 to 2 is through path), 3rd port is coupled port connected to detector and 4 th port is isolated port also connected to...

    Debugging:Open or Short Circuit

modify the circuit that gives AC audio signal and repeat the exercise. May be a broken small toy piono will sufiicient the requirement. Break the speaker or audio crystal unit connection. Attach leads to both ends of this broken connection to test open or short. Ensure that the toy key is in...

    FM square loop antenna connection

Hi, is the problem with 3mm loop antenna or telescopic antenna integration? Check the loop antenna without telescopic antenna is working sine and have good sensitivity. loop antenna variants use shunt capacitor across loop-end. adding telescopic antenna may change /degrade loop antenna, this...

Substitution of old germanium transistors in radio circuits

Also add resistor in series with head phone, this is because most of modern transistors works fine near 4.5 to 6 V. I suggest having variable resistor that help as volume control for this receiver. Regards,
