    802.16D block size issue

I would like to thank if someone reply my queries This is about block size for Convolutional turbo codes (CTC) in 802.16d WiMAX. The block size as defined in the standard as 8 ≤ N ⁄ 4 ≤ 1024, and N is bit pairs and N can be one of [6 8 9 12 18 24 27]*N sub channel, N sub-channel and its value...

Turbo decoding Lc Vs Eb/N0 and Coding gain

Hi, I am checking the performance of turbo decoder (1/3 rate) by doing simulation for different Eb/N0 and for BPSK modulation. I have few doubt about the entire simulation process. 1. I generated the AWGN noise (0-mean,1-variance) and adjusted the amplitude of the noise by multiplying...

Why Padding Zeros before OFDM IFFT?

Could you please look into my answers about the zero padding in the page (What are pilot carriers for ?)

    What are pilot carriers for?

Sorry I don't have any reference for the answers I posted, I just gained some knowledge after working in industry in this particular field... Thanks for your complement..

    What are pilot carriers for?

Hi This is a very good question: Please see my comments below QN:In the design of most OFDM systems before the zero padding there is an insertion of a 'zero' in the middle of the data carriers, why? ANS: I am taking reference of 802.11a for your answer. 1. Typically OFDM bandwidth is 20MHz and...

    Transmit SNR and Receive SNR

Typically SNR is not measured at the transmit mode, instead we do measure TX EVM. In the receive mode we do measure SNR and it is combined effect of channel attenuation and all kind of noise including fixed point error.
