this forum is a waste of time

Hello, you know I am a manufacturing engineer in pcb industry.I do not know much about design.Sorry for that. Sometimes my clients come to me complain that they did not get the boards on time and the cost is high. It is not good for them. Most of them are just start-ups. People have different...

this forum is a waste of time

Thanks for your time. I am Roy. Sometimes I just curious about how did others find a factory for prototype? Google it : type in the keyword, pcb fabrication and so on? or find one from the electronic forum or from a friend's recommendation? I think it is will be a interesting topic.

Cost difference between multi layered PCBs?

Hi FVM!Yeah, I have never seen a 8mm requirement. Maybe we both are too serious about the 8.0 mm. My fault. I come from a non-English speaking country. So sometimes I misunderstood something in the thread. Thank you anyway.

PCB throughhole Via looks like connecting to every layer.

Hello. I think all the via structure are the same , and that's why they are called Through Holes. See. the red dot is the vias. The green area are copper.

Cost difference between multi layered PCBs?

It depends on the no. of layers. 8mm is really thick. As far as I know the 2-layer price is about $0.072/sq.in 8mm boards need more prepregs and normally it will increase the cost by $0.003/sq.in/pcs. For example 4 more prepregs are needed the price will be $0.072+$0.003*4=$0.084/sq.in. I hope...

What are the documents needed to submit for making pcb

yes, you just need to sent the gerber file and specifiction to the pcb fabricators. Mostly the software used is CAM 350 or Genesis 2000 It is easy to get the dimension. You dont need to make a pdf file. You know I am in this industry. Be honest, most sales have little knowledge about it. Some of...

What are these dashes for on PCB power traces

I really agree that it is thieving. And maybe for some reason the designer put soldermask openning for the dots, even though it is not necessary.

What are the latest PCB design softwares and what are their latest version number

I dont think we are talking about which is best. I use genesis 2000 and CAM 350.

Problem with smd hot air soldering

As far as I know, HASL(lead-free) and ENIG are most used in the surface treatiment.

How to make the same PCB in different thickness

same pcb in different thickness? that is really not a problem at all. Just specify the board thickness finished(copper thickness is necessary ). And the manufacturing engineer will figure out the stackup to meet your requirement. For example: I hope it is helpful. I am Roy from China.

Cost difference between multi layered PCBs?

maybe you should make some samples and have a test on that. What do you think?

Cost difference between multi layered PCBs?

Really good idea! And I do not think FR-4 is flexible enough. And Flex pcb can not sustain the shape.

Cost difference between multi layered PCBs?

Most of the fabrication houses in China the bow and twist is controlled within 0.75%.I do not know whether it can meet your requirements.:|
