    [HFSS] Simulation of finite FSS

I think in the example "77 GHz 2x2 Phased Array Antenna and Radome based on the 3D Component Finite Array Workflow", the antenna is fed by lumped port, which is different from the FSS. As for an FSS, what we care about is the S11 and S21 (reflection and transmission) and the FSS should be...

    [HFSS] Simulation of finite FSS

Thanks for your reply! In HFSS getting started guides, I found the file "HFSS floquet ports" which includes the FSS model. However, the FSS model is an infinite FSS which is simulated using master-slave boundary with floquet port.

    [HFSS] Simulation of finite FSS

Hi everyone! I'm simulating a finite FSS using HFSS which has 144 unit cells. We all know that an infinite FSS model can be simulated using floquet port with master-slave boundary. As for a finite FSS, how to set the boundary condition and excitation? An hfss file with simulation model will...

Impedance bandwidth and 3-dB gain bandwidth of antennas.

Thanks, PlanarMetamaterials. I learn a lot from your answers. When I consider 3dB gain bandwidth, the gain means realized gain or gain, e.g. , in HFSS?

Impedance bandwidth and 3-dB gain bandwidth of antennas.

Hi! I' m confused about the bandwidth of antennas. When should I consider the impedance bandwidth of antennas and when should I consider the 3-dB gain bandwidth? Any comment is welcome. Best wishes. Kato An.

Why a guard ring with width of guidewave-length/2 suppress the surface wave of microstrip antennas?

Hi, I got a problem about the guard ring of microstrip antennas. In this figure, there is a guard ring around the dipole. It is designed to suppress the surface wave. In the paper, the author expresses as: it helps to suppress the surface wave because the guard ring of width wr=lamda_g/2...

[SOLVED] When plotting radiation patterns using OriginPro, the center of the figure is blank. What's the reason and how to solve it?

As shown in the figure, the center is blank. How to solve the problem? Please help me.
