So let me get this straight. My mov should be slightly higher than the rms? What confuses me is the fact that some posts state that on a 115-120vac circuit i should have a varistor whos working voltage should be 170. Im going crazy.
Im currently working on a inverter driverboard that got caught in a bad power surge. The fuse is rated at 8amp/125vac. The varistor is completely burnt up so i cannot identify it. Should i base the varistor on the fuse since they are in series? The varistor will go line to neutral.
