Field monitors on plane wave HFSS

First of all thank you for your answer. Where exactly did you assign the excitation? On the top of the radiation boundary's box? How big that box was? Why did you use waveport instead of plane wave?θ Do you have any project-example to follow? Thank you again. This is my project: I used PML...

    [SOLVED] RCS HFSS Patch antenna

Hello, Can anyone tell me how to calculate RCS for a patch antenna?

Field monitors on plane wave HFSS

Hello, I implemented on HFSS the structure below and I want to monitor fields between patch and ground in various frequencies, in a range over a band gap zone. I managed to produce the bandgap zone by using HFSS's eigenmode solver. To monitor fields do I have to change the solution type? If yes...

    CST antenna simulation

I am confused. Can you help me with the fixpoints? I don't know how to use them... :S I have only changed the settings on the global mesh settings.

    CST antenna simulation

Thank you for your answer. Can you also tell me how to simulate a plane wave and how to set the boundaries for this case? I uploaded my current project so you can take a look if you want. I used two waveguided port and I want the S parameters from port 1 to port 2.

    CST antenna simulation

Thank you for your answers. As I've previously said I am new at CST so can you explain what do you mean at about mesh part?

    CST antenna simulation

Hello I am new in CST and I am trying to implement a microstrip antenna. I want to add a wave guide port on each side of x axis on my structure. Is it right to add these ports on boundaries? What boundaries do I have to choose? On transient solver, must the adaptive mesh refinement be enabled or...

    Airbox and PML settings

Increase the size to match the radiating distance? Another question is how to set the ground correctly. In some examples, ground is a perfect conductor box of some thickness. In the above project, I use a plane material assigned to Perfect E (plus Infinite Ground Plane). What do you suggest?

    Airbox and PML settings

First of all, thank you for your answers. For the PML, do I have to use the default values provided by the wizard or I must change them according to the design (minimum frequency, thicknesss and radiation distance)?

    Airbox and PML settings

My design has eigenmode as solution type and so I can't use ABC. What do you mean "PML is well designed"? Do you suggest to use the default formulas of PML Wizard?

    Airbox and PML settings

I use 500MHz as minimum frequency to my set analysis. Do I have to set the air box size 0.15m? What about the PML thickness and the minimum radiation distance? Thank you.

    Airbox and PML settings

Hello, I am trying to create a bandgap diagram in eigenmode for the structure below: but I don't know if I set the correct size of the airbox above the cell and the PML. The size of the first airbox is 6h and for the PML I use the recommended value of thickness but the minimum frequency of...

HFSS EigenMode Unit Cell: Problem on Results

If yours antenna dimensions are not restricted, try to changed it and see what the results will be. Try to change microstrip feed dimensions.

HFSS EigenMode Unit Cell: Problem on Results

Actually, I am trying to implement a different patch than this on the paper but based on the same logic: I sweep from 0 to 180 degrees. Is this wrong? How do I find the correct sweep area?
