After the simulation, the log indicated there are missing components such as switch, LED, and battery even though they are in the circuit and connected as specified. I try to reconnect the said missing parts but there is no changes at all. The LCD only lights up with nothing on it.
Ow, Yes, you're right. This is different from what you've described. Sorry my mistake. But I think it is also compatible so I'll compare the three. Thanks for the data sheet for S6A0069 controller.
I did the necessary changes but there is still no display. I didn't actually design the circuit. I just found it in the net and now I'm trying to test it using Isis-Proteus if it is working together with the codes so that I can proceed in doing the hardware. That is why I ask about the lcd's...
I've found the name of the lcd display. It's JHD162A 16 Char x 2 Lines Alphanumeric LCD Display with backlight. So I was able to download its data sheet from here: https://www.datasheetarchive.com/JHD162A-datasheet.html

I searched that Hitachi HD44780 is already obsolete. And I also find sites selling online but they are from India and US. Shipping will take time so that is not an option for me. Here is the pdf of available LCDs. Hope you find one. :)
Hi! May I know an alternative or substitute for 16x2 alphanumeric lcd based on HD44780 controller. This is not available in our country so I am hoping to find one that can replace it for my project, a speedometer with odometer. Thanks!
