Hi Guys,
I am having a problem with this circuit that I designed. It uses a piezo to trigger a 555 timer and flash an LED. I added the amp section to get better sensitivity. When I use two separate power supplies for the amp and trigger sections it works perfectly, but as soon as I try to...
OK, I will pass this info on to our programmer and make sure that we are all on the same page. Maybe I can get him to post up if he has more technical questions since this has gone beyond my experience level.
Yes we want to send and receive, but not from the same pin. Basically, as I understand it, the midi only travels in on midi in and out on midi out. So as long as there is only one set of commands going or coming there shouldn't be any interference. My light system is "in" or "through" only, but...
OK. Thanks again Alex. I may have to scrap the idea then because I already have 50 of the PCBA's made and adding an IC at this point is out of the question. I was hoping for a simple fix that would miraculously fix the problem!:???: Not to beat a dead horse, but I mentioned in my first post that...
Thanks Alex! When you say you don't think it will work, do you mean it will cause a problem electronically? Or do mean it just won't function as we want it to? This will not be a constant communication, it will only be there read the settings off of the chip seldomly.
Hey guys,
We (my partner and I) have written a small computer application for sending and receiving info via System Exclusive (SysEx) through a midi to usb converter on my midi LED project. We can transfer info to the atmega128 through the midi connection but since there is no TX connection we...
Thanks for the link Alex, I will look it over. As far as what fixed the problem, I changed a couple of things. First, I got a new motherboard and processor yesterday so that may have had some effect. I installed a virtual serial pair (com1 and com2) since the new motherboard doesn't have a...
Ok I have had success!!!! I am now able to send messages from my virtual midi piano to the serial (compim) port on Proteus! Whoohoo! Thanks very much Alex for your helpful tips! I have another question though. If I convert a midi signal to a serial input, does it change the nature of the signal...
OK. Thanks for the tips Alex. I had already tried all of that stuff except the hyper terminal thing. I am using win 7 so I am not sure where the hyper terminal is. Do you have any idea where it is in windows 7? Or if it is included?
EDIT: Did a search and it appears that hyper terminal is not...
I was wondering if maybe i posted this in the wrong place? I can't seem to get any communication with the Proteus compim no matter what i do. I must be missing something..... Not much info out there on this issue.
Hi,
I hope I am not posting this in the wrong forum. Anyways, I am trying to input a midi signal to the Proteus compim (virtual serial port). I have a virtual midi piano that runs through Midi Yoke (Ox) to a virtual midi to serial converter. That converter is ported to the Proteus compim...
Ok. Thanks for the replies. The reason I asked is that I had a professional board made and somehow or other I overlooked connecting one of the ground pins to ground. My programmer is having trouble getting the USART and midi stuff working and I wondered if it might be because of that pin not...
