If i have a signal S(t) (the plot would be voltage vs time) and I take its fourier transform, what are the units of the vertical axis? The horizontal axis can either be frequency in hertz or in radians, but what about the other axis? I guess generally I plot the magnitude of the transform since...
hello
I did my a Power spectral density and my sampling frequency is at 1000Hz so I suppose to get the range from 0 to 500Hz
but the thing my PSD is symmetric around 250 Hz

Hello
I got around 20 control(healthier) people and another 20 patient recoded EEG ,I want to analysis the data and see the difference between the control and patient.
can I just take the average of 20 control people and put it in one averaged EEG signal a and compare the patient side by...
is the filter function in MATLAB is used in time domain domain or frequency domain??
for example so if you want to design a butter high pass filter and you get E signal in time domain
[b,a] = butter(n,frequncy,'high') ;
and then use the filter(b,a,E)
to apply the filter in time domain...

this is my code for
using in matlab
pwelch(y1,window,[],[],1000) %Welch's method
which y1 is my EEG signal.
my sampling frequency is 1000Hz for the EEG signal,
I want to get a frequency range of 0-30Hz.but I'm...
