u can use either VB.NET or VB.6.... u must integrate with GOOGLE MAP using GOOGLE MAP API....
and u need also a GSM MODULE connected to ur computer/server with a designated COM PORT so that u can get the SMS from the vehicle's device and plot it to the map..
1. u must have an MCU
2. connect the GPS module to the MCU
3. connect the GSM module sim900 to the MCU
4. MCU has only 1 UART port... then both of the GPS and GSM module is also UART... so u need to create a switching circuit either to chose which device u want to connect.. either GPS or GSM...
it should work, u must have a diode in between 5VDC and VBAT of the GSM... so that it will drop 0.7v... GSM module only requires 3.3v to 4.8v...
have u tried to connect GND to the PWRKEY Pin for a few seconds?
thats the procedure on how to turn on the GSM module... also connect 1 LED to the...
dont use PIC16F877A use 18 series PIC like PIC18F4620... PIC16F877A's ram will not be enough to issue AT COMMANDS, since those are strings and strings eat too much ram. specially by reading inbox and store the message to a variable before parsing it...
the baudrate changed in the hyperterminal, can't send AT+IPR to the modem due to communication problem...
and yes i only use RX,TX and GND... only tried sometimes connecting the DTR to DCD and RTS to CTS and other setups, just thinking might help..but still not...

schematic for sim900D, only connected to the computer using data cable (DCU-11) USB to serial TTL232 converter...
LM7805 max current is only 1.5A....
but sorry i forgot to tell u that now we use LM350 with adjustable voltage output using resistors and with 3A output..

just posted the breadboard we'v made...
it doesn't goes...
for sim900D
- Power supply is 12vdc 2A
- regulated by 7805 to convert the voltage down to 5v
- with zener and 1N4001 diode in series to get the voltage down to 3.6v
- then connected to SIM900D VBAT pin and with GND also
*now power supply for sim900D is setup and OK
- 1 LED for the NETLIGHT

for sim500w
PL0824B05SIM500W32_ESMT_V301_FCT_TAIF - this is the firmware version after issuing AT+CGMR command...
inquiry been sent to the manufacturer and supplier if the the version supports TCP/IP stack
thanks for the reply...
for SIM500W sim1: CSQ=13% sim2: CSQ=26%
for sim900D:
yes..been tried all the baudrates.. then i will try what u suggest now...
big thanks...
