Hi ALL,
How can I draw an ellipse (oval) shape in LPKF Circuit CAM software? I tried but I can only draw a circle. Even the arc shape in the graphics builder is greyed out and cannot be selected.
This is very urgent as I have to submit my project by Sunday.
MANY THANKS,
Hassan
Hi ALL:
How can i add a resistor in Agilent HFSS? i need that because i am trying to simulate a Willkinson divider. Agilent HFSS is diffrent from Ansoft as it is available there in lumped elements but i cannot find that in Agilent.
Many thanks
Hassan
Hi all:
I am designing a dual band stacked patch antenna using coax fed and aperture coupling working in 6 -- 12 GHz band. My advisors want me to choose an application for this simulated design.
Can any one help me to find an application in the market with similar characteristics so I can set...
Try this paper:
"Optimum Design of an Aperture-Coupled Microstrip Patch Antenna" by Ho Yong Jang, Jeong Hee Kim and Jeong Phill Kim
You will need a PDF version that can read Korean language in order to see the figurs labels.

Hassan
Please find attached a view of the stacked circular patches,
u will find the following layers starting from bottom:
1- air layer
2- feed line layer (h=2mm, εr=6)
3- air gap
4- patch layer (h=1.588mm, εr=2.2)
5- air layer for radiation
thanks
Hassan
each response is from a different patch as
i get about 7 GHz when i do the simulation with the upper patch only(bigger radius)
i get about 14 GHz when i do the simulation with the lower patch only(smaller radius)
i tried changing the slot length. Pozar and other did manage to get a wider BW but...
Thank u Piff44,
The design i'm doing is supposed to give me two resonant frequencies as i'm using stacked patches with different radiuses. The problem is that i cannot bring the two resonant frequencies closer to give me wider response although i tried all the optimisation methods i mensioned.
Re: To simulate an aperture-coupled microstirp antenna in HF
Sorry for the late reply as i have just seen it
some of the advs are
The thickness and the dielectric constants of the two substrates may be chosen independently to optimise the distinct electrical functions of radiation and...
I’m trying to design a wide band aperture coupled stacked circular p@tch antenna (Circular p@tches not circularly polarized) for 10 GHz but so far I’m only getting a dual resonance response as shown in the attached file. I tried to optimize: the upper and lower patch (radius, substrate...
Hi all,
I'm designing aperture coupled circular patch antenna and i have the following questions:
1- in many papers i found out that the stub length (Ls) should be less than λeff/4. WHY? i know that the stub is given by -jZoc Cot(βLs) but where does λeff/4 come from?
2- i need a paper giving the...

Re: Coupling and impedance matching in Aperture coupled ante
too many items to make a compromise in between: good coupling, good impedance matching and the low back radiation and higher gain. i will do many sims and compare.
Thanks
Hassan
Re: Coupling and impedance matching in Aperture coupled ante
Thank you brazilian,
what i'm not sure about excatly is how to judge the that design has better coupling or impedance matching by looking at the S11 graph and Smith Chart?
regards,
Hassan
