I am hetero myself, and I built one back in 1962.
(Who woulda thunk that 'google would become a verb!)
I'll bet if we started a company that used "Heterodyne" and went public,

I built a pulsed power supply a few years ago for Plasma Ion Implantation.
The pulses were 60kV at about 1400 Amps. The leads to the plasma chamber
