import pads to cadence
Hi All,
I have couple of PADS file and I need to perform SI analysis on it. Since I have been using PCB editor and PCB SI tools, I was wondering if I can import PADS file directly into PCB Editor and PCB SI tool without loosing any information.
Thanks

HI All
I am using a converter in my design whose output rate is 750 Msps. I have to interface this converter with the FPGA. The output data of the converter is LVDS DDR.I know Altera stratix II GX can go up to 717 MHz (please correct if I am wrong).
I read the Virtex 4 datasheet but could not...
Hi All
I have two clock source on my board, There is a phase delay between them. Using external phase shifter I can find the phase difference between them.
Now is there a way I can change trace length on the board physically. The thing is I have some very expensive components on the board and...
phase shifter vs delay line
Hi all,
I am working on a design In which I have two clock that needs to be in sync always, however these two clocks are from different source. I want to add a phase shifter or delay line in between one of the clock so I can adjust the phase difference after the...
Hi,
Please find the attached paper, it gives you an idea about designing a microwave link.
If you could tell some more details it will be easy to understand what exactly are you looking for.

pcb thermal analysis
Hi all,
I want to perform thermal analysis on the PCB board I am working on, so I can find which part of PCB gets more heated as compared to the other parts.
I know Mentor has a tool hyper lynx to do this type of analysis. I was wondering if cadence has something...
Hi All,
I am working on a Mixed signal design where AN IC needs bot Analog voltage and Digital voltage.
I am using Switching power supply to generate digital voltage. I was wondering how can I generate analog voltage on the board.
Thanks
Gaurav
Thanks for your reply
I am using PTH12050w to generated +3.3V
I would really appreciate if you can show how to connect filter circuit between VCCA and VCCD
Right now I am using ferrite bead(120ohm) and bypass capacitor separately for all the input power pins.

Hi All
On the design I am working on has a IC that works on VCCA (+3.3V Analog) and VCCD (+3.3V digital). I know I can not use the same source to connect both VCCA and VCCD.
I am using TI POLA device(voltage regulator that generates +3.3 V Digital). How can I generate +3.3V Analog.
What...
Re: Problem with ground
I am using 12Volt 4Amp Battery Charger to provide power to my board , Is this a problem?
Is there any difference between 12V switching power supply and 12 V battery charger
thanks

24 layer stackup
Hi All
In my design I have 7 power supplies (1.2, 1.5, 1.8, 2.5, 3.3, 5, -5). I am using the following layer stack up.
top
gnd
power 1 (split plane for 1.5, 5)
signal 1
signal 2
power 2 (3.3 V)
power 3 (split plane for 2.5,-5)
signal 3
signal 4
power 4 (split plane for...
Thanks for your reply but the thing is that all these signals are routed on internal layers due to impedance requirement and trace width constraint.
The IC's used belongs to the BGA family . So I cannot place these Bead probe on the fanout either.
Is there any other way ?
Thanks
Hi All,
I want to put some testing point on some of the high speed signal trace (500 MHz ). I don't want to connect header pins in between of the traces because that's going to effect the signal strength, So I was just wondering is there a better way or any recommendation so I can insert...
Hi All,
In the board I designed , I am using Power jack connector (similar to the one we have on laptop). Input to the board is 12 V. I have voltage regulators to generate other voltages like 3.3, 2.5 etc on board from 12 V input.
The problem is when I connect the voltage adapter to the board...
