Inputs on my first PCB for AC motor driver.

Success so far! So i tried somethings on the board. I replaced the IRS2334 with a new one. replaced the 10uF bulk with a 47uF. replaced the bootstrap caps from 2.2uF to 1.0uF replaced the gate resistors from 20 to 150ohm **lowest i had in lab* ***i replaced gate resistors after i tried the new...

took the driver section schematic, do you need more? 2 first pictures are one of the LOW side waveform rise and fall. 2 last pictures are one of the TOP side waveform rise and fall. I just noticed i swapped low and highside ON PWM4 cause i mistakenly read it the same as the other. gotta switch...

Ok. the driver is tripping for overcurrent with no load. for which i assume is shoottrough. I took lowside and highside scope pics with phone. https://ibb.co/6nxb6XD https://ibb.co/NsHWTbw https://ibb.co/WDGPKrm https://ibb.co/k3GC7PJ high side seems to have problems. ideas? gate driver...

Everything soldered: https://ibb.co/dtQBsJW https://ibb.co/V2CRcqr https://ibb.co/F0kwqvX finishing firmware before trying it live. Connecting the pickit worked without problems!

Board arrived. excited to start soldering and and not hope it explodes when i power it up. looks very good. some text ended up on the backside. i must have missed when fiddling around. i forgot a pulldown resistor on the mosfet relay. might hack one in from the pad tho! https://ibb.co/qCqXhg9...

Thanks for your input and encourgement, it really helped me! I will check back on how it works and try to get some measurments but might take a week or two. Take care!

Inputs on my first PCB for AC motor driver.

Hello again! Yeah i should check what is regulatory for my country, but as you said i will let no one else touch it. This might not be microchips first wiff at circuit APP notes actually. Anyways i have now atleast 2mm clerance between all the ac/dc & pe connections. i measured 5.08...

Yet again thank you, i will round all the corners. why im confused about top gnd and vias is two fold, one is caught someone saying use many as many vias as you want in your design, more is better to a degree. if its not too much to ask take a look at AN1660 from microchip. uploaded gerbers to a...

I have listen to your points and improved the design again thanks! done most of your suggestions. replaced the inductive wirewound with two non inductive power resistors in pararell to meet the power and ohm requirement. bent the TO-220 legs, slots under the DC/DC and OPTO. increased PE...

Thanks yet again for your valuable input! regarding creepage and clerance, i just need functional i guess, because the interface is isolated. but any reference? i made a quick stop by the smps.us to read about it. do you mean thermal vias? Generally should i use pads (via with exposed copper)...

New design, 1mm clearance, slimmer board, slots between TO220 legs. ground planes, thighter gate drive, the best i can do without trying to put the IC under the bridge, film cap. https://imgur.com/a/26PSZTg Gladly appricate some new input! Thanks!

Inputs on my first PCB for AC motor driver.

Thousand thanks! 1. Currently working on two identical planes for bot and top, but with just vias for the gnd. 2. i set the clerance to 0.4mm concidering the to220 package limitation. this could be changed to a to247 to overcome this. but i wanted to do this design now that i have...

Thanks for your time! Okay i am starting to understand. will get up to par, and report back with an updated design.

Thanks for the input. i will surley check more ref designs. could you elaborate on a ground plane? i made the top layer gnd for the non isolated and isolated side.
