VA is the power delivered if the load is purely resistive.... if the load has capacitance or inductance in it, this power gets divided into two parts, real (Watt) and reactive (VAR)..... where real part is the one that does the actual work, while reactive is used in energizing and establishing...
In general it is the nominal power rating of the battery, indicating indeed that if u keep drawing 100A, it will die in one hour.. but this is just nominal and it can not be assumed that the battery would last for a half hour if u draw 200A from it
