what i found is, that there is a voltage difference between the two signals..
monochrome = 0.3Vpp
coloured = 1Vpp
should i go for envelope detection or some other technique ??
i suggest that u may use a small microcontroller and read the PWM signal and then u can control the LEDs.
u can set any threshold voltage level for each LED separately.
composite video is almost same for both coloured and monochrome, except for the colour burst in the coloured video after sync pulse.
sync speeds--> i didn't measure. do they matter ?
video level is 1V Peak to peak for both.
