    Hi, for beginner I just check the trace impedance, PCB stack up, driver & receiver strength/ODT and specification(topology), rise time of the signal and trace length spec.

    I agree with mishrashashi, power plane can be your return path, but still you have to avoid split on the trace.

    Hi, I think you cannot get the average impedance result from a line that has 4 microstrip & 3 stripline. Cadence will display it separately, you can open the SigXplor on Cadence. You will get the value separately on each segment. If you drawing a system like that, I think you just have to draw...
