    LCD Monitor mod Backlight

I don't have a CRO, so I don't know how i would go about it. But it must be a very minute signal from the PC that I just can't pick up with a multimeter. I may research digital video signals a little more to learn more about them. If not, I'll scrap the idea and just turn the monitor off...

    LCD Monitor mod Backlight

I was thinking the same thing but I measured the voltages beginning with a display on the screen, and holding it until the display sleeps. Before sleep I measured 4.98 VDC and after sleep it went up to 4.99 VDC. It was the same amount of difference on all wires, just different voltages, but they...

    How to feed and inverter

I am not familiar with that inverter and I can't find any documentation on it. You can find the inverter power terminal easily, use a multimeter and test continuity to find the terminal that connects directly to the 2A fuse. This is your +12VDC power, possibly pin 1.

    Do transformers obey ohms law..

This is getting more complicated than it needs to, basically, when using a higher voltage, it takes less current to produce the same amount of power (watts) than when using a lower voltage. Higher voltages are used on transmission lines to reduce the voltage drop on the line, caused by the...

    LCD Monitor mod Backlight

So, I have successfully converted my broken iMac G5 into a computer monitor with a DVI input, the only problem is that when the computer puts the display to sleep, the backlight stays on. Is there a circuit i could build or buy that will sense the video signal from the computer and turn off the...

    How to feed and inverter

My first question is, what brand model laptop is it? They all use different inverters for their backlights. It looks like a six terminal connector, one of which is probably 12VDC, this is to power the inverter circuit, another is an on/off, this requires a voltage, most of the time 3.3VDC or...
