I was not familiar with the TVS. Here are some helpful links: vishay.com/docs/88436/appnote.pdf semtech.com/images/promo/What_are_TVS_Diodes.pdf https://www.semtech.com/images/datasheet/tvs_diode_selection.pdf mccsemi.com/up_pdf/MCC_TVSSelectionGuide.pdf Thanks again GUMY

Remote circuits (long wire) EMI, ESD protection

Thank you GUMY. Do I have to use ferrite on both sides too? Is there any definition for long wire? And what about the shielded wires?

Remote circuits (long wire) EMI, ESD protection

Hi I have found this page about protecting micro's inputs from EMI, ESD. https://www.digikey.com/us/en/techzone/microcontroller/resources/articles/protecting-inputs-in-digital-electronics.html These images are two ways to protect the sensitive component on the right (micro). But what if we...

Microcontroller and IC(HCT,4000...) connection.Over current, ESD, EMI prevention

Hi Is it necessary or preferred to place a resistor between Microcontroller (esp. PIC family) and IC(7400, 4000, darlington etc.) or not. If yes, how much ohm is good? The HC(T) IC family has a 100 ohm resistor right between it's input pin and it's internal circuit and Darlington array IC's...
