After testing I can confirm the code works perfectly! Monumental achievement to be fair. Those involved know it just wouldn't have been possible without them so thank you for getting involved and sharing your wisdom. Much appreciated!
Honestly I got lost in the terminology. I copied the file Main.c across and just clicked on write to chip...
I just tried it and it exactly as you said it would behave. The real test will be tomorrow when I attach it to the amp. Needless to say I'm very excited and very thankful!!
What do I do with these files?
I have copied the Main.c into the same folder as 16F870_AVI_S21_MI.X and over wrote the old file. How do I build the HEX file now please?
I think I rather just remove the chip!
But I have no idea what to do with the file as the last one just uploaded as project and I clicked write to chip. Please can you explain what to do with the file, I'm un-soldering the chip now..

OK I renamed the file and learned how to import it...
I cant as there is no space and the tracks are very fragile and already badly damaged!!
But........Its alive!!!!!! The mute LED is on and the REC LED 7 is constantly flashing!

Was the REC LED suppose to constantly blink or for 2 seconds?
OK, I'm ready!
This amplifier is absolutely beautiful sounding. Very low distortion and very high output power with little to no heat when driven decently. They hold their value too.
I will now fit the new programmed chip into the board and see if I can power it externally and report back...
Hi, Sorry I have no idea what that is! I had to watch a couple of videos just to get the PIC 3 to communicate with the software!
What do I do with the compiler? I also still have the chip plugged into the reader, do I just disconnect that? Thanks
I did...something! OK I downloaded the project and opened it the IDX. Then I flashed it!? It seemed to go through...
I definitely loaded the right project... Is it done? In regards to the remote it could be either original remote control or reprogrammed from factory to use a universal remote...
Hi, I see the files but not sure what to even download! I have taken some shots of the PCB front and back. I can zoom into certain areas on request.
I did receive a reply from Phil, he has no code and no service manual. He has stated he fixes these from just experience.
Please note the Chip...
That's amazing really much appreciated.
I will wait for a response from Phil in regards to previous message first then take it from there.
I see the logic but I guess the code is something completely different.
The REC function is not required at all. The LED 9-13 can be ignored as it does...
I got a reply back from Phil, he does not have the code. I'm yet to hear back about the additional service manual.
The IDE version is V5.5 and the compiler is XC8.
I just found the other part of the service manual!
How do I measure it? Can you explain please.
Thanks for the help guys...
I used to have one many years back, it doesnt say much.
I don't need the recorder function or remote function, just need to engage the raly so I can actually get some sound! Bit silly really an expensive machine becomes a door stop due to an IC.
