Are you confusing concept HDL with something like VHDL? Concept HDL is a schamatic capture software. I don't think he's looking for an algorithm to draw a line with a PLD. Or do you want to say he must program the function to draw a line himself, because concept HDL can't do it?
I only know 99SE
Pro:
-Easy to learn
Contra:
-Badly programmed (slow compared to others on same system).
-Bad routing tools (not even parallel movement of segments is possible).
-If you move a routed component , it gets disconnected from the routing tracks.
-Every copper pour must be...
Use the space you have for GND pour. Low impedance ist most important for GND, as it is the reference for the signals. For the supply voltages use thick traces and bypass caps.
I don't think there's a way to make specctra zoom exactly like Layout. The problem in specctra is, that when you press ESC more often than necessary, the mouse zoom will be disabled. You can fix this problem if you define a key for the command that restores the zoom function. Unfortunately, I...
You can save shortcuts for most actions in your *.do file. All actions you do are listed in the *.did file and at the bottom of the screen. You can copy a command and paste it to the "assign key" window, where you can assign a key to the command. You must reload the keys for each sesion. Best...
Re: Fanout Spectra or layout
Specctra is way better at doing fanout than layout , especially for BGAs. Don't use Layout for that. Just try to understand what all the parameters and options are for, to get the best results. It's all explained in the Specctra help.
Re: CAD ease of use
Ever tried Tina Pro from Designsoft? It's easy to use, but somewhat less powerfull than Pspice, I think. It also costs only about one tenth of Pspice. A nifty feature it has is that you can generate formulas from circuits. Personally, I like it very much. You can download a...
Specctra and pin exits
Hi
I want specctra to exit long SMD pads, like those of a TSSOP case, only at the narrow side, but at the same time it should exit nearly quadratic pads, like those from resistors and caps, at any of the four sides. What's the easiest way tho set these rules?
