Dear all,
i have a question dont understand on power system.
When power system network splits into 2 regions after system disturbances, one region may experience underfrequency while the other region will experience overfrequency phenomena.
why??
please help explain. thanks a lot!!
hi
well, i have another idea on build power supply..
i have one laptop charger, which supply 18Vdc 4.8A..
well, could i use diod to step down the voltage to somewhere near to 5Vdc and 12Vdc and use it??
please guide me.
thanks.
hi all. i have a USB-SATA converter. but unfortunately the power supply died yesterday.
anyway, i am thinking, is it possible i create my own power supply for my harddisk.
i take the 230Vac, step down to 20Vac and rectifier and filter with capacitor.
from there, i should have 20Vdc.
i then...

how current transformers work
hi all. i hope my question is not out-of-topic ya.. it is more to electrical..
well, i studied about Current Transformer, which it use almost same theory with Voltage Transformer. (i am referring to bar type Current Transformer)
Primary winding is HV side, which...
simple led projects
hi all.
i am making a simple LED project for my children..
i use super bright LED which consume 25-30mA
the super bright LED forward voltage is about 2.7v-3.0v.
would my circuit below work? thanks.
please confirm i am correct for my think below.
a) i use 60 Ohm, 5 Watt...
resistor for led 12v
no wrong polarity risk for my case.
therefore, just double confirm, i could just connect directly 12V to my led. to limit current to 25mA, i will need to add a 480Ohm resistor in series with the LED.
am i correct?
thanks.
Added after 2 minutes:

led 12v resistor
well, a quick question,
could i connect 12v to a LED?
i will use resistor to limit current to 25mA, but just wondering would LED could accept 12V?
or it will kill the LED?
thanks
led lighting 12vdc projects diy
hi
i would like to build a small DIY project of LED lighting for the children.
i have a 12Vdc, up to 35-40W supply. the 12V supply can go up 20% or 14.4V sometime.
without using voltage regulator, prefer if can connect all the LED direct to this 12V supply...
i mean, the current will flow from the copper wire to the high resistive material (to heat up and boil the water). this mean, they are physically connected.
copper is a good heat conductor also, which mean the heat will spread to the copper wire also??
assuming the heater run for 1 hour, for...
you have to learn the basic electronic theory first..
but anyway, there are a lot hobby electronic circuit all around, you want play around with that first, but take your own initiative to learn how it actually work.
also, pic microcontroller is budget microcontroller for begining to learn...
