Hi,
I have a PCB that I am fault finding at the moment. The board contains a RS485 data line and an audio line. There is a speaker attached to the circuit. There are LEDs on the board that flash on and off when data is being transmitted and received. When data is being transmitted and received...
Looking for any information and tips on designing a handsfree telephone system for a nursecall system in a hospital. Already have a design using the Motorola MC34118 Voice-switched circuit. If anybody has played with this device before or similar, any advice would be quite helpful.
The design...
Re: lm386 hiss
I have mangaged to obtain a gain of about 40 now. However my output contains a lot of hiss. Im using the lm386 to amplify the output of a speaker on a handset of a phone. Are there any common techniques to reduce hiss when it comes to the lm386.
I am currently doing a small project that involves creating a small audio amplifier circuit that will amplify speech output on a phone. I have made up a circuit on a breadboard (vero board) using an LM386 audio power amplifier using the first conifguration example from the datasheet. I have...
sigma delta filter -modulation -adc
Ok...thats sorted. I can get the data into MATLAB. Now, I know what filters to use, but I havent used MATLAB for a long time. Perhaps someone could point me in the right direction on what procedure to use to decimate my output, and how to plot the input...
sigmadelta filter
Ok I can now sample the data. I have the output in a text file. Im having a little trouble getting the data into MATLAB.
If anybody has experience with this and could help me that would be much appreciated.

sigma delta converter matlab
Hi all,
I am currently completing a thesis on a sigma delta converter. I am not fabricating the design. Its all simulations. I have completed the analog parts, but now i need a digital filter to decimate the signal and ultimately calculate the resolution of my...
plotting SNR
Does anybody know how I could plot the SNR or SNDR of a sigma delta converter using spice. Im using B2 Spice A/D Pro.
I am also open to any suggestions of how to plot useful results for a sigma delta modulator.
Thanks for any help! :D
Re: common mode input
There are three figures in the attachment.
opamperror1.gif: This is the output i get when i offset my input (black curve)
opamperror2.gif: This is the output i get when i dont offset my input.
opampschematic: This is my folded cascode schematic.
common mode input
In a folded cascode opamp there is a tail current at the differential pair (assuming an NMOS differential pair.). I have simmulated this tail current using a current source that is available in spice. According to my frequency response everything is fine, however....

Re: 1-bit DAC problems
Another problem I am having with this 1-bit DAC design is that the swithes connected to the negative ref voltage, limit the DAC output swing to only +-1.34V instead of +-1.75V. When i replace these switches with ideal ones i get the full swing.
Is there anything i can...
clock voltages
When applying clocks to switched capacitor circuits, what would be the optimum amplitude of the clock. ie. should it be equal, slightly greater, or much greater than threshold voltage of mosfet?
Re: non-overlapping clocks
Much appreciate your effort in your reply JPR but that is a little confusing at first glance. Naisare is right, perhaps you have a diagram that could explain things a little clearer. Meanwhile i will try to decode what you have written :P
Thanks for all the feedback everyone. I have plotted the gain by doing a frequency sweep and plotted Vout in db. I have a result but im pretty sure it is wrong. My response is in the negative decibel range instead of the positive range. I have a flat response across - 60dB and then it drops off...
