[Help] How to simulate a balun?

Hi everyone, I have a question about how to simulate a balun in HFSS. If I want to know the amplitude and phase characters between the balun's two output arms, such as the wideband Chybeshev transformer, as the fig.How to model and solve it in HFSS? Thanks and Regards! CaoCao

Which is accurate, HFSS or CST?

Hi fishyxl I think the hfss is more accurate in calculation S parameters in waveguide structure . When I simulation an antenna , I can get accurate pattern in HFSS and CST-MWO ,but in calculating S parameters ,HFSS is better than CST . Regards! caocao

    question about antenna pattern synthesis

Hi every one I have a quesition about antenna pattern synthesis . If we have the surface current amplitude and phase distribution of an antenna,we can get the far pattern.Put the other way round , how can we obtain the surface current distritution (amplitude and phase )according to the far...

waveguide discontinuity problem : step in width

Hi You can study this book 'field theory of guide wave 'Collins .There are methods in solving uncontinued quesiton. I think the best method is Mode Match ,you should expand the mode in the waveguide. Best Regards ! caocao

    question about Archimedean spiral antenna

Hi everyone, There is a question in Archimedean spiral antenna.I want to enhance gain of the antenna,a cavity was added on the back of the spiral and about 1/4 labuta from it.I had simulated the antenna in hfss and found that the axial ratio of the antenna increased too(from 1 dB to 7dB).I...

    circular patch antenna measurements

Hi dch316, About the measurement of circulary polarised antennas in anechoic chamber such as Compact Range, if u only measure the AR on some angle, you can choose the polarization of the linear source (H or V) and tune the antenna to the angle, circumgyrate it along its axial! If the pattern is...
