You can get up to 5 samples of the LM1881 directly from the manufactor. You should check on the website. It only depends on the quantity you need. They'll deliver it in few day by Fedex or equivalent and the all for free.
MAX232E and power supply
I found that it's possible to use this component design for RS232 transmission as a small power supply system. You apply +5v and get +/- 10V output. I can't find how much can be the output current from this supply.
