Does anybody have an idea how to open a UDP socket between two machines to transmit an audio stream from one to another?
One will write a data stream to a socket, the other will read from the other end of the socket.

what i wanna do is a public address system using our University's Local Area Network. i havent much idea on how will i be able to convert analog signal from microphone to digital signal, using codecs? how will i specify the bandwidth allocated for my transmission, is the parameter governed by...

umm.. how about, instead of computers, connecting speakers through the network? from it, the speech will be played from the main computer and broadcast it simultaneously.. is it feasible?
