hi guys! i have a doubt regarding the Vref+/Vref+ pins of the 16f887 pic, how do i have to configured then in order to use them as an ADC external reference? the question is should they be configured as an inputs in trisa (00001100) and then configure them as analog input in ansel register...
yes i know vss and gnd from pickit 3 must be connected, but also Vdd (from the pickit pin 2) with V+, otherwise it doesnt work, if i try what nagkiller says about not connecting the V+ from the external source with the Vdd pin from the pickit 3 it throw me an error, when the pickit 3 is not...
pin 6 is not needed in the way im programming, i would like to know if programming directly to the microcontroller while it's working doesnt burn anything
hi all! i hope you can give me some advice! im using pickit 3, i connect it to the target (a 16f887) and i just program while the pic is completely hooked and working with other ic's and leds and its externally powered (by a variable source), in a manner i see the inmediate effect of my code...

yes always those 2 locations, i have tried 3 different 16f877a pics and same result, i even tried to program them in another PC and still failing! maybe a blown pickit?
i tried both, powering the circuit (only the pic and a led) with an external power source (set @5V) and powering with the pickit 3 itself, in both cases it failed, im using the original red cable pickit 3 contains
hi everyone! i hope u can help me with this problem, im nuts about it! recently i've been trying to program a 16f877a pic, but without success, each time i verify, blank checking or program it shows me that some memory regions failed to verify/program/etc, when i read it the configuration word...
guys thanks for your comments and support! i replaced the DS1307 IC for a new one and it's working perfectly! the good thing about this week being dedicated to solve my problem was i learnt a lot about using RTC's, i assumed the first one was damaged, once again thanks for everyone who answered...
indeed im using a protoboard! your point about the capacitance seems to be the problem, when the crystal is connected the ds1307 oscillator doesnt do anything (im not using long wires the crystal is too close to ic), but i disconnected the crystal from the breadborad and used short wires to...
