    USB-Serial Cable Configuration.

So I need to create a Virtual Port using VSPE to be able to use the cable? If I create a Virtual Port, Let's say, COM2, how can I tell the USB-Serial Cable to use COM2 as a virtual port?

    USB-Serial Cable Configuration.

I need to connect a PIC to a PC using a Serial Cable. The Board already has an RS232 port, but I need to use a Serial-to-USB cable. (or USB-to-Serial). If I plug the USB end to the PC, do I need to configure anything else so that the USB works as COM1?

Sending data to a phyisical Serial port using Proteus.

Re: Sending data to a physical Serial port using Proteus. Using VSPE I selected "Splitter", this is the only option I see that connects a Physical Port to a Virtual Port, then I made COMPIM COM2, then I sent data, but nothing shows up on COM1, is this the right way?

Sending data to a phyisical Serial port using Proteus.

Sending data to a physical Serial port using Proteus. I'm sending some bytes from a PIC16F877A to a COMPIM in proteus. The COMPIM's properties are set for COM1. COM1 is the only physical port I have (Although I don't know where is this port on my desktop). I'm trying to read the bytes using...

Simulating PIC and Serial Port Communication in Proteus

I'm using Proteus to simulate a simple communication between PIC16F877A and a Serial Port. I Installed VSPE, I created 2 Virtual Ports COM2 and COM3, I picked "pair" in VSPE so that COM2 and COM3 are connected together. In Proteus I added the PIC and the COMPIM, I edited the properties of...
