    RF device to call 911?

Thanks vfone! U-Blox (and Telit) have the kind of cell phone modules I'm looking for. But they are expensive (starting at 89$)... Do you guys know any cheaper alternatives?

    RF device to call 911?

Since it's possible to call 911 from an old inactive cell phone, would it be possible to design a RF transceiver that could make 911 calls without any sim card or monthly mobile plan? Or does such device already exists?

Adding Bluetooth functionnality to a product

I currently sell a portable consumer product similar to a bike helmet. I would like to embed a Bluetooth headset inside the helmet to allow the user to make phone calls (by connecting to the user smartphone) by pushing a button on the helmet. 1. Would you have any recommendation for an OEM...

Can you find out the resistor's value?

I desoldered the resistor from the board but unfortunately the band color is completely burned. I tested the resistor using an Ohmmeter and it showed 42Kohm. Is it reliable even though the resistor burned? - - - Updated - - - I was able to find a picture of the electronic board online. The...

Can you find out the resistor's value?

I'm trying to fix a 5 years old dishwasher board that burned. One electrolytic capacitor dried out so I'm replacing all of them on the board (5) but there's also a resistor which I think is a high power resistor that I would need to replace. How can I know what value it was since it burned?

    What diode should I use?

No I haven't. How could I test the transistor?

    What diode should I use?

The even bigger diode on the left has "P60" and "8209" written on it. How could I find out why the damage was caused?

    What diode should I use?

Even given the fact that the bigger diode burned, you think that a smaller 1N4004 would be fine?

    What diode should I use?

My father-in-law has an old soldering unit in his garage and he blew 2 diodes on the electronic board. I'm trying to find some replacement parts. Here you can see a photo I took of the board. I know the part number for the diode "A" is 1N4004 but I can't find the part number for the bigger...
