CP antenna vs antenna with same Co and Cross polarizations

Thanks for your reply. So, I don't understand why the path-loss should increase by 3dB since I can catch all the x and y polarizations with my dipoles.

CP antenna vs antenna with same Co and Cross polarizations

Hi Everyone, Consider having a RHCP antenna as a transmitter (placed in xy plane and transmitting toward z-direction). If I have an antenna with same level of Co and Cross polarization (cross shape dipole placed in xy plane oriented along -z direction), how much power I am going to receive? Thanks

Dipole Antenna null at theta equal zero

Hi, Does anybody knows why the dipole antenna (half-wavelength, short, infinitesimal) has a null at theta = 0? I know that the pattern of dipoles have sin(theta) and therefore at theta = 0 is zero. But what is the background physics? Thanks

How to characterize the attenuation of transmission line

You have to use multi-line calibration method. To do so you have to simulate two transmission lines with different length then derive the attenuation and propagation constants. However, in this method you should develop a code which is sometimes tricky.

    Parallel Plate waveguide

I am trying to simulate a parallel plate waveguide with HFSS ... I am using the Perfect - E and Perfect - H boundary condition for the side walls ... I used the waveports for the excitation ... however, as I plot the Imag(Gammma), I saw a lot of propagating modes inside the structure before...

    graphene complex conductivity model

You should use Kubo formula to calculate the graphene conductivity as function of frequency, then you can import the results inside the HFSS as a frequency dependent material ... this will help you to model the graphene ... Note, this model is usefull when the graphene is not biased with a...

    Simulating Ferrite Circulator with HFSS

I have the same problem in HFSS, when you define a ferrite, it asks the saturation magnetic field. If you make magnetic bias with internal magnetic filed of 0 A/m, HFSS will use the saturation magnetic field you have already defined (I mean the ferrite is biased even if you put 0 A/m for the...
