Depend what software you want to learn, for example if you want to learn how to use Allegro; you may have to register with Cadence company, pay tuition then fly to US and attend in the 3 days class at Cadence as we most do here :)
Re: Fonts type Allegro
In Allegro, you can not choice any fonts but use default font (ugly font).
I've sent this request to Cadence long time ago (version 13.x) but they do not improve (now ver 16.3).
They also do not have tear drop until version 17.xx (according to Cadence company)
Re: Parts Layout
I never use Spectra to lay-out my board because it takes longer time to clean it up compare with manually routing.
If I was you, I will lay-out this board from fresh and it takes me about 10-15 minutes to finish your board without any problem.
So forget about short cut or...
Yes you can do it but you have to deleted all Ref Des and replace Ref Des with fake Ref Des by using top & bottom silkscreens.
After that, just select that small board then copy and paste before making Gerber.

There are no cons and no risk for this.
It also increase your clearance if you have any trace routing close it.
Your hard disk may be damaged. If it worked before, plug that HDD as a secondary HDD in another computer, boot your computer then select it and format.
Re: mp4 or wmv
IMO I think mp4 or wmv are the 2 different containers only. They are nothing relate to the quality of the file. The quality of that file depends on how people made it.
