how to model magnets in hfss
you can also use CEDRAT - FLUX2D and FLUX3D - powerfull and very competitive vs Ansoft's pricing strategy...
Flux is finite element software for electromagnetic and thermal simulation, both in 2D and 3D. Flux handles the design and analysis of any...
What a move!
CST has been pretty active recently.
another TD solver technology (actually pretty powerfull !!!) for CST (not for Ansoft)
sounds like a good price too ;)
any thoughts on that?
Re: About Microstripes 7
hi,
well u can get it on he link
www(dot)flomerics.com/microstripes/loginsupp.jsp
now, u may want to use 7.5 as they have integrated an advanced dynamic AUTOMATIC mesh - great - fast excelent accuracy so far
good luck

I fully agree with Max.
what are your criteria and objectives.
for Time domain solution u have choice between CST (FDTD) and MicroStripes (TLM)
good luck

looking at MicroStripes (3D EM solver) at SAR - Microwave Dosimetry section - it sounds like they have Sam head model
"SAM Phantom head filled with simulant liquid and placed next to a generic dual-band mobile phone (PIFA antenna)"
their compact source technology can help...
Re: H F S S vs C S T
hi,
back on memory issues, MicroStripes employs the Transmission Line Matrix (TLM) method to solve Maxwell’s equations in the time domain.
on several case i found out to be as accurate as CST but far more attractive for memory requirement and simulaiton spped (i guess...
HI,
I would suggest u to try MicroStripes 7.5 - TLM(transmission Line Matrix) based.
I have been using it for component design (antenna/phased aray) and installed performance and their automatic meshing features (lumping ) is helping a lot to acheive greater accuracy and still ok for...
hey, for such issue, Simplorer is really easy to use and pretty powerfull.
they have a nice free eval available to download - with examples ...

Re: About Microstripes 7
hi,
i am working on another subject but you can ask them, their tech support has been good for me, sharing some good tips & tricks ;)
good luck

for RFIC design I am using AWR solution.
it is pretty powerfull, stable and quality/price ration is excellent...
I suggest you to get thei fre eval or ask for their feed back - good tech support

Re: Antenna design tools
it depends of your antenna design...(what is it?)
HFSS and CST are good tool.
using MICROSTRIPES, 3D EM Solution (Transmission Line Matrix (TLM) method to solve Maxwell’s equations in the time domain) it provides me an easy way to set up my design and its solver is...
hi,
HFSS is a good solution but MICROSTRIPES has an unknown potential.
It approach with TLM (Time domain) really make the difference for spped and accuracy (I like their meshing approach too, pretty smart !!!)
invite you to try it vs HFSS
AW
Re: HFSS tools ?
HFSS is a 3D EM simulator like MICROSTRIPES
HFSS : frequency domain
MICROSTRIPES is using Transmission Line Matrix (TLM) method to solve Maxwell’s equations in the time domain
hope this help
AW
cst vs ansoft
Hi,
HFSS and CST are good solution requiring some experience to fine tune their settings to get good solution.
I find that the approach of MICROSTRIPES (3D EM Solution) with their TLM approach makes it easier and provide great accuracy.
you may want to consider it (THE...
