I think that W/O play button you can send command over ATA cable but I think that will be expensive... Its better that you find CD with play and maybe step F B button.

You can use so some of video graber card(most cheaper ~40€) with 4 input, for example, and with PC you have very good possibilities... I think that stand alone DVR are overmuch expensive... you decide.. bye!
Yes .. old dvd/divx player that its out of order ... of course dont be disappointed if it havent VGA out ... in most cases on a little motherboard it have place with simple connector that its VGA out .. I cant tell you details because many of options are possible. I saw 4-5 "different" player...
can you say some extra information ... how high voltage what type ac dc or or or
I have one simple realization over >4 resistor ... Maybe it will be enough resistive on high voltage ?

Do you know a TTL shift register with 3 states outputs? (74LS595 could be an alternative, but it has latched outputs and costs more).
And if I add a 10K resistor to every output pin of the LS and of the Z80 cpu?
