19 Jul 2002 23:50 General suggestions on how to post. |

Dear Electroda (Admin/Moderators and ALL members):
Maybe some people don't know how to post so....
I offer some suggestions on how I post (topics and/or replies).
Hopefully this helps ppl because things changeing around here.
Usually, I have 5 rules I try to follow before I post anything.
1. Is (created) topic specific enough to get answer to my question, but general enough so that others having "similar" problems can try also? (hey, never know, it might work).
2. Will created topic violate (no posting/forbidden) rules?
- This (could or is a guarenteed) way to get thrown out of Electroda.
3. Will reply to topic provide answer, or help to originator of topic?
- Is this another me too, I want also etc... ?
4. If discussion topic, will posting provide-
a. continued discussions (or just make ppl angry and stop discussion altogether?)
b. Offer solutions to problems discussed.
5. Will PM do instead of post?
- If reply is to originator of topic only, then PM is answer. otherwise reply may be necessary.
In short If I can't "honestly" answer yes to #1,3,4 and no to #2,5 then maybe I don't need to post!
I think that if ppl follow these suggestions.
1. You will get alot of help from other members and
2. You won't need to worry about Admin's and Mod's deleting post and/or removing your "hard earned" points.
It's offered for ALL members of Electroda. And I hope it will do some good for newbees and regular members who need to brush up on "forum etiquette."
Thank you for you time.
