We are going to work whith a LCD Graphic module with CCFL Backligth, it needs a CCFL inverter, what is exactly its function? it cost about $15 but i want to do it so maybe you could help me with some information about it.

Look for application notes AN65 and AN81 at linear.com web site.
Some articles by Jim Williams in EDN magazine could be usefull......
I don't know what is your application, but may be advisable to buy the ccfl driver.
