Hi,
if somebody has experience in processors & co-processors, i 'd like to know what is preferable to do for the communication between them? Is it a better solution to use a communication controller like 10/100 ethernet Mac or PCI of the processor Question

Hi,
Normall Coopressors are directly interfacable with the processors. No glue logic is really required.

Thanks BRM,
Rolling Eyes I understand this now. A co-processor seems to communicate faster with the processor, through CPI or AMBA.

As anything in electronics systems is enough to exist a weird architecture somewhere to violate any definition .But in the past a co-processor was a specialized EXECUTION unit outside of the HOST cpu .But this the instruction decoding was still performed in the HOST !
