thx for your replies,
If I run spectre in command line, how to invoke the waveform viewer.
I have tried AWD which can't read the waveform output,
also I don't have wavescan installed ...

| No idea how to run it from the command line. Always use analog artist. Why don't you use it, too?

| Give awd command in the psf dorectory which pops up a result browser window. click on the analysis you have done and then the net you want plot. This will load the net into the calculator. then you can click on the plot button of calculator to view the results.

In IC5141, the default is wavescan.
How to force awd (or spice SpiceExplorer) as default ?

u should copy three files such as artistLogFile,runObjFile and variables-file to psf directory and u can view waveform with AWD. And the three files are produced by first running spectre for any simple circuit in analog artist.

But my problem is : how to have awd as a default viewer inside Cadence?
If I run a simulation and plot them during simulation, I want to see them in awd (or spice explorer) not wavescan.

You can choose the option of analog waveform display, which is available under the analog design envirnoment window.

Session -> Option menu
There should be an AWD viewer selection.
