i have hspice models for CMOS.

can spectre read these in straight up or do they have to be modified.

i have read two conflicting things on this board:

either yes, they have to be modified

or no, they can be read in without modification.

can someone let me know

thanks

you do have to make modifications. Some design kit provide models for both Spectre and Hspice.

I think models for spectre and hspice are a little bit different.

It is better to transfer your hspice model to spectre format before your simulation.
Spectre also provide a command to read the hspice format model directly. command line mode: spectre +spp or GUI: click "use spice netlist reader" It occur some errors when I used because spectre can not recognize some character.

You must modified the spice models to spectre model for spectre.
Or you simulate with Hspice
