SCADA is basically a super set of DCS(distributed control system).
in a distributed control system, u r supposed to control sub-systems at unit level and then to send data to the central processor through telemetry techniques. these central processors are in redundancy when used in SCADA or DCS.

s7-200 scada

Real question is with which SCADA you want to work?

I work with VipWin (Festo SCADA - Austrian firm Copa Data build that SCADA for Festo), but WinCC from Siemens or Wonderware is quite different, so you have to decide which SCADA you want and then you learn about it.

scada system for beginner

well, someone have said WinCC from siemens is SCADA software.

dear fellows, it isn't like that exactly.
because WinCC is an HMI(human machine interface). but it has a networking support rather.

in case of SCADA u r supposed to perform telemetry which requires an MIS server installation n/wed with WinCC station

if i am wrong, i will never mind being corrected by anyone.

citect scada allen bradley interface

Rolling Eyes I don't know for the other peoples here but for me
SCADA (SUPERVISORY CONTROL AND DATA ACQUISITION) is not
hardware, its a software connected to a DCS or a PLC
see the website of the following constructor :

siemens (WinCC )
allen bradley RSView
Schneider Electric (Monitor)
Wonderware
Ifix

If you want basic information to start, try to look first to the HMI
catalog. There s often a good introduction to the product
