| Currently, a lot of Chinese have good English ability. Maybe spoken English is not very good, but reading and wirting abilities are good enough to communicate with others.

| I have just spent a month in Beijing.....great place, great people.........but found that my only drawback, was the language. If it was not for my chinese girlfriend I would have been totally lost. So, if anyone can help, if there is any Chinese person out there willing to help me learn, I would be very grateful..........and so would my girlfriend, because I am sure she is sick of repeating herself all the time!!! My e-mail is: yorkiepaul2000(at)yahoo.com

hi bluuice, sorry to let u know that's not true... i think most of chinese engineers may be able to read and write in english and speak in not-so-excellent english. in daily life, you'll find english is useless in china. but nowadays quite a number of people in china are trying to master this international language, so in future what u said might be true.
