I can't import elliptic cylinder into HFSS.when I save the model ,it will show message that asci code error. Have someone met ??
please help me .........thanks

HFSS v9.1 REPORT ERROR
I also met an issue with v9.1.
The fast sweep can't work on my computer.
I'll obliged to 'Interpolate' and save fields with the 'discrete' option...
Moreover, as for me, the simulator is still quite instable.
The function "duplicate" is especially 'windows'-able and bugs without explanation.
sorry, about your own issue, i can't help specifficaly
use the Ansoft web site : i'm sure they will answer.
Anyway, Do you import your object from hfss v8.5 ?
If yes, import the whole project with .cls file in hfss v9 ?
when you import the project, care with object names (no "-" are allowed for example)

Hi ablendos,
do u mean import or export elliptical cylinder? Check that sat files are compatiable. Now ACIS 12 is available so if you have a file which is ACIS 12 and when u try to import into HFSS which supports ACIS 10 (I think) then u have a problem. If export in sm3 try to save in the lastest ACIS format.

which software can open .sat file? Autocad?
I try to export HFSS 3D model in order to get some dimension to build it.

Hi randyding,
ACSI is a trademark of spatial. (I think recently taken over by Dassault) Autocad, Solid Works, KeyCreator, etc can open and alter *.sat files.
Solidview will be a good and cheap program if you just require want dimensions.

Thanks for the info, I try open .sat file using Autocad 2002, didnot work. I think autocad can generate .sat file, but can't open it.
do you know where can download solidview?

Hi randyding,
i think u need to have the solid ver of autocad. You can use goggle to search for solidview. You can register at their website for a 15days free trial of the software before buying.
