C++ or basic programs with Beckhoff CX-1000

Beckhoff CX-1000 (I only have found information of it about the TwinCat for programming as a PLC type Step) have been recommended me for a project that should use Visual C++ or basic programs. Does this system perform these programs like a common PC? How could be transferred the programs to it?

You can buy this unit also with OS

- WinCE
or
- Win XP embeddet.

In this case you can write progs with VisualC
download via Network.

I am sure, you can use the CPU only,
also with pure DOS -> full speed.
