Visual Studio 6.0 and driver building

Hello all
i need to set up a development environment for a WDM driver and i've heard that you can set up MSVC++ environment to use someting called an "external build procedure" to build with DDK's BUILD within Visual Studio in order to get vs's functionality.
Any pointers?
